Now I can finish up these last 2 cupcake hats. Hopefully those are the last for a while, Im getting kinda sick of making them. Ready to try something new!!!!

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten much knitting done this week. The baby decided that this is the week he is going to drop from one to two naps! YIKES! Needless to say, it has been a very long week for all of us! Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy so hopefully Ill get a lot of knitting done!
Not sure what I will attempt next, but probably something fun!

Cupcake hat #???

So I have officially lost count of how many cupcake hats I have made!!! Yikes! I just finished a very cute chocolate with pink frosting hat for Allison B. She's a photographer and asked for one to use in some pictures with little girls. Its almost finished! I attempted to make a cherry using a wrap and turn technique. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out, so back to the pom!

Next I have two cupcake hats for some girls at TMA, and a scarf for someone else at the school. I can't wait until I get to finish some other projects that I have been wanting to try.

Hopefully I'll get some more done this week than last. I finally got all my yarn put away. And thanks to my wonderful Grandma, I have a new toy! Its a yarn caddy that has room for 6 skeins of yarn to be pulled through the top! very handy for storage and knitting with multiple yarns!

Alright, goodnight world!

Word is out!

I wanted to post the picture of Kathryn's hat and scarf. The hat should look familiar, the ever popular cupcake hat. But the scarf, the one I decided to do the morning of her birthday dinner, I am calling the sprinkle scarf. I used the same colors as the sprinkles on her hat!

Anyways, so Kathryn has this thing in her classroom called the daily news. Each morning students are given an opportunity to share news, things about their weekend, etc. Well, K put my email address and a note about having a scarf or hat made on the board. So far, Ive had a few requests, which is very exciting! Ive put their items on a high priority list, hoping that the more kids that have them, the more other kids will want them! We will see what happens!

2 cupcakes finished, 2 more to go!

So I decided late last night, that since it has been freakishly cold here in Florida, that my little sister should get a matching scarf to her cupcake hat! I originally envisioned a wide-rib scarf with a cupcake applique on the ends. But when I realized I had less than a day to finish said scarf, I quickly switched to a 2x2 rib, using the same colored yarn as the sprinkles. Pictures are soon to follow! Kathryn absolutely loved the hat and scarf and they looked very cute on her!

After we got home from Kobe's, I decided that I should take a few minutes to finish up the hat and scarf set for Alicia D. I was VERY worried about running out of the blue fuzzy yarn, but was able to finish with just a little left over! Whew! So that is done! But now I have 2 more cupcake hats to make....

Next on the list is probably my husband's hat and scarf set that he has been anxiously waiting for! HAHA. And then I want to attempt a pair of slippers or some wristlets and make a nice set.

I was bad today...

So the parents of the baby I sit for always save me the JoAnn's and Michael's ads from the Sunday paper. This tends to get me in trouble. Today it definitely did! The baby has been rather fussy, not sure why. I tend to think its a combination of teeth and being sick, but I really needed to get out for a while. So off to JoAnn's we went. Little did I know that ALL of their yarn was on sale! I wasn't too terrible, I only spent 33$, but I got a bunch of yarn. I hope to make some nice hat/scarf/mitten sets. I have a nice pattern that I got for Christmas that Ive been wanting to explore.

On another note, I started this black sweater bag. I think its going to take forever!!! Debating if I should continue to work on it, or just save the yarn for something else....

And now, due to my cupcake post, I am now making at least 2  cupcake hats and one scarf/hat set. HAHA. So Im off to knit! Hope everyone is staying warm!

Cupcake Hat

I just finished this adorable hat for my little sister's birthday! I even added sprinkles and a  cherry on top! I hope she likes it! I had a hard time with the pattern I was using, so Im not going to bother posting it. I ended up using straight needles rather than DPN's, and I also made quite a few modifications as the original pattern was written for a baby. Im very proud of myself because I made this in less than 2 days and I had to learn how to make nubbles. I plan on making a blue one for the baby I sit for. He would look too cute in this hat! More pictures to follow!
